*Top 10 Countries with the Highest Muslim Population in the World 2024*

Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the world, which makes Muslims the second-largest religious population in the world. There are more than 1.9 billion followers who adhere to the religion Islam; this contributes to 24.9% of the world’s population, next to Christianity, which is 31.1%, and Hinduism, which is 15.2% followed by Islam.

Muslims have two major subdomains in their religion: Sunni and Shia. Sunni contributes to the major population of Muslims, which is 85 to 90%, with Shia being the minor population, which is 10 to 15%. Though the Muslim population is being spread all over the world, the majority of them are living in Asian countries.

*1) Indonesia:*
Indonesia ranks first in the case of being the country with the largest Muslim population among the other countries in the world. There are more than 231 million Muslims in Indonesia, which accounts for more than 87 per cent of its inhabitants. *2) Pakistan*
Pakistan is the second-largest country in the world, with the largest Muslim population. Though in India, Muslims contribute less than 15% of the total population, where Hinduism and Christianity are followed by more, it ranks third because India is the second largest populated country in the world. There are more than 200 million people who have adhered to Islam in India. The Muslim population in India may increase so quickly as Islam is being followed by more people day by day.

With a significant Muslim population, Bangladesh is ranked as the fourth state globally. Even though Bangladesh is a secular nation, its sociopolitical traditions and culture are more Islamic, with over 150 million Muslims making up 91% of the country’s overall population.
